Michelin-starred restaurants in Tenerife and Repsol Suns

22 October 2026

As of the 2026 edition of the Michelin Guide Spain, Tenerife has 9 starred restaurants with 11 stars between them: two with two stars (El Rincón de Juan Carlos, in Adeje, and M.B, in Guía de Isora) and seven with one (Nub, San-Hô, Donaire, Haydée by Víctor Suárez, Il Bocconcino by Royal Hideaway, Taste 1973 and El Taller Seve Díaz). Eight of the nine are on the south and south-west coast, between Adeje, Playa de las Américas and Guía de Isora; only El Taller Seve Díaz, in Puerto de la Cruz, is in the north. The island also has eight Bib Gourmands, Michelin's award for good value for money, and 24 restaurants with Suns in the Repsol Guide 2026, with El Rincón de Juan Carlos as the only Three Suns restaurant in the Canary Islands.

How this list was compiled

The data come from the official Michelin Guide and Repsol Guide listings consulted in October 2026: award, chef, type of cuisine, municipality and hotel, where there is one. The 2026 stars were announced at the gala in November 2025 and remain valid until the next gala, expected at the end of 2026: if you are reading this guide later, check the current list on the Michelin website.

Prices are not included: Michelin only publishes an indicative scale (from € to €€€€) and menus change often, so check each restaurant's website. According to the listings, several open for dinner only and close two or more days a week.

Bib Gourmand in Tenerife: recognised cooking at moderate prices

The Bib Gourmand recognises restaurants with good value for money. The Michelin Guide 2026 gives this award to 10 restaurants in the Canary Islands, eight of them in Tenerife. Almost all are in the north and the metropolitan area, which complements the list of stars well:

  • Moral (Santa Cruz de Tenerife): contemporary cooking with Canarian flavours in a restored mansion; it has also held one Repsol Sun since 2026.
  • San Sebastián 57 (Santa Cruz de Tenerife): seasonal cooking with Canarian roots, near the Nuestra Señora de África market; one Repsol Sun.
  • El Aguarde (Santa Cruz de Tenerife): traditional cooking with a La Mancha influence, next to the Rambla.
  • Silbo Gomero (San Cristóbal de La Laguna): Canarian cooking with a modern touch; Michelin highlights its mojos, its cheeses and the fish escaldón. One Repsol Sun.
  • La Bola de Jorge Bosch (Tegueste): traditional cooking.
  • El Rebojo (Garachico): traditional cooking; it fits in with a visit to the town.
  • Furancho La Zapatería (Icod de los Vinos): Galician cooking.
  • El Secreto de Chimiche (Chimiche, Granadilla de Abona): traditional cooking in the southern medianías (mid-altitude areas); it also holds one Repsol Sun.

If you want to know which Canarian dishes will appear on these menus, the guide to Canarian food explains the basics.

How to book and what to expect

Book ahead

These are small dining rooms with few sittings, and without a booking it is almost impossible to get a table. Book as soon as you have dates, especially in high season and for weekends. Mention allergies or a vegetarian diet when booking and read the cancellation policy.

Dress code

Neither Michelin nor Repsol publishes a dress code. Smart casual is the norm; avoid beachwear and flip-flops, especially in luxury hotels. If in doubt, ask when booking.

Tipping and taxes

Prices in the Canary Islands include IGIC (the Canary Islands sales tax), not VAT. Tipping is not compulsory; to find out what is customary, see tipping, money and IGIC in Tenerife.

Fitting fine dining into your trip

  • If you are staying in Costa Adeje or Playa de las Américas: seven of the nine starred restaurants are a few minutes away, three of them in the same complex in La Caleta. It is the most convenient area for a gastronomic dinner without a car; see where to stay in Tenerife.
  • If you are staying in the south-west (Guía de Isora, Playa San Juan, Los Gigantes): M.B is in your area; Adeje is a short drive or taxi ride away.
  • If you are staying in the north: El Taller Seve Díaz (once it reopens) and the Bib Gourmands in Santa Cruz, La Laguna, Tegueste, Garachico and Icod save you crossing the island at night. The Puerto de la Cruz guide helps you plan the rest of the day.
  • For a special occasion as a couple: the sea-view terraces of La Caleta or Costa Adeje go well with other plans in Tenerife for couples.
  • If you are having the wine pairing: go back by taxi.

Common mistakes

  • Relying on old lists: restaurants come and go with each edition; Haydée, for example, changed premises and regained its star in 2026.
  • Assuming they open at lunchtime or at weekends: several serve dinner only and some close on Saturday and Sunday.

Frequently asked questions
